Holistic Anti-Bullying Approach

edufamily® presents

A professional approach to bullying — now with H.A.B.A.360

Become the professional who truly understands bullying — and knows how to act. A holistic, practice-rooted approach that goes beyond the symptoms.

Why H.A.B.A.360

Bullying cannot be handled by following a recipe. It takes a deeper understanding to be able to respond in an individualised way.

In schools and counselling contexts, bullying is not a new topic. Professionals are aware of it, and there are numerous concepts, guidelines and prevention programmes. In theory it is also clear that bullying is a group phenomenon with an imbalance of power, not a conflict dynamic between two children. And yet, in acute situations, people often act at the level of symptoms and treat it as a conflict: mediation talks, parent meetings, appeals to insight, sanctions, increased playground supervision. Sometimes it works in the short term. Often it intensifies the dynamic. And affected children conclude that asking for help does not improve their situation but can even be risky.

This is exactly where the real difficulty lies: recognising bullying is already demanding. Understanding a single case and responding to it appropriately is a discipline in its own right — because what is effective in one situation can produce the exact opposite in another. Effective work with bullying therefore does not rely on standard solutions, but on an understanding that does justice to this complexity — and the competence to develop the right response for the specific case from it.

The H.A.B.A.360™ programme conveys precisely this understanding and this competence: step by step, well-founded and practice-oriented.

What does H.A.B.A.360 mean?

Holistic Anti Bullying Approach

“Holistic” has a twofold meaning here:

1

Understanding the whole case

Behind bullying situations there are almost always deeper, overarching issues. Instead of applying a one-size-fits-all response, we work context-sensitively and understand each case as a whole.

2

Effective on every level

Effective work operates on every level: with children and young people, with parents, with teachers, and in supporting schools, affected persons and their families.

The 360 stands precisely for this all-round ambition and bridges science and practice.

  • Work constructively with parents, especially when things get difficult
  • Act with more confidence in your own class, team and school

In terms of content, HABA Basis corresponds to the former Train-the-Trainer programme “Approaching Bullying Differently”.

The stance H.A.B.A.360 builds on

H.A.B.A.360™ is new — the stance and approach behind it are tried and tested. These testimonials come from the Train-the-Trainer programme “Approaching Bullying Differently” (2021–2026) and from Christelle Schläpfer’s long-standing practice — that is, from exactly the work out of which H.A.B.A.360™ has grown.

I am generally very critical and have often experienced poor presenters. With you I experienced it differently: even though I already know a lot about the topic, I could have listened to you forever. It was palpable that the topic of bullying is close to your heart and that you put your heart and soul into it.

Carina Marti
School social worker

Christelle’s enormous knowledge, which she applies in the search for creative solutions, impresses me greatly and has already helped me in various situations. I value her positive and appreciative stance towards everyone involved in tangled bullying situations. I warmly recommend Christelle’s offerings for parents, schools and professionals.

Slobodanka Stjepanović
School social worker

Christelle Schläpfer is THE expert when it comes to bullying and cyberbullying. Her expertise is enormous. Bullying has many faces — and the courses of action participants take away are just as varied. I recommend her wholeheartedly — for our children and against bullying!

Barbara Forster-Zanettin
Primary school teacher, owner of redeweise.ch

Christelle Schläpfer moved and inspired me on several levels. Her professional competence and her ability to distinguish between method and stance won me over. In my view, this continuing education is a must for everyone working in the educational field!

Counsellor in the psychosocial field HFP

Fair participation — accessible worldwide

Effective bullying prevention and intervention should be possible everywhere — regardless of how different the economic conditions are across the world’s regions. That is why the price depends on the country of residence: professionals in regions with lower purchasing power pay less, so that the programme stays fairly accessible both professionally and financially.

Region Countries Price
Region 1* Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Scandinavia full price
Region 2 rest of Western Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand, Asia-Pacific, Gulf States, Israel − 25 %
Region 3 Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa, rest of the Near/Middle East − 45 %

* Region 1 = full price; for Region 2 and 3 the price is reduced accordingly (see table).

In addition:

  • Instalment payment is available for all regions and courses.
  • For special situations there are scholarship options — just get in touch.

What has changed compared with the Train-the-Trainer

From 2021 to 2026, the Train-the-Trainer programme “Approaching Bullying Differently” provided continuing professional development to over 230 multipliers. From this practice, a more in-depth, international successor programme has taken shape: H.A.B.A.360™.

The core remains — the holistic approach to bullying grounded in individual psychology and systemic thinking. What changes is the structuring of the learning pathway and its compatibility with international standards.

What stays: stance and methodological core

However much the programme has evolved — the stance with which we look at bullying dynamics remains the same:

  • Alfred Adler’s Individual Psychology as a bridge between depth-psychological insight and systemic practice.
  • Systemic case analysis, which understands bullying as a phenomenon of the group and its environment — not as a trait of individuals.
  • Multipartiality and needs-oriented thinking that keeps everyone involved in view: affected persons, contributors, the environment, the school and the family.
  • Context-sensitive, hands-on practice with concrete case work at every level: HABA adapts to the resources actually available and to the context of each school — making effective action possible even with limited means.

What comes after Level 2

The H.A.B.A.360 programme is designed for the long term. Level 2 is followed by further levels that will be rolled out step by step from 2027:

Level 3 — Mentor is authorised to certify schools and to teach the Basis and Facilitator levels. Level 4 — Senior Mentor is additionally authorised to teach the Coach & Trainer level. Both levels are structurally linked to an active HABA licence.

If you would like to take the long-term path as a programme participant, do get in touch — we will add you to the pre-launch list and inform you as soon as Level 3 is announced.

What requirements do I need to meet?
This programme is for professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, educational sciences, teaching, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, special needs education, social work, social pedagogy and medicine. The certification documents your completed educational pathway — it is valid for life. The HABA licence is an additional, regularly renewable element of ongoing quality assurance. It is a prerequisite for using the HABA brand title in the present tense, using the HABA logo, the listing in the public HABA directory, and access to the HABA Toolbox and the HABA Community. Can I book only HABA Basis without committing to Level 1?
Yes. HABA Basis is a stand-alone entry format with a confirmation of participation. You do not have to continue. If you later decide to move on to Level 1, there is a differential rate (CHF 1’080 Early Bird / CHF 1’200 standard price) and you do not have to attend the Basis days again.
Is instalment payment possible?
Yes, instalment payment is available on request for all levels. We will find an arrangement that suits your situation.
Are there scholarships?
Yes, on several tiers. In addition to the automatic differentiation by region of residence (three price regions), there is a contribution scholarship and an acquisition scholarship (“bring four people with you and pay 60 % less”). Details on request.
